Introduction from Manchester!

Hi everyone,
I am a beginner flamenco guitarist (though I played classical guitar on and off the last decade) from Manchester although I am originally from Sarajevo. I have adored flamenco music for a while but only started playing a few months ago.
Flamenco leaves me with a feeling of melancholy, similar to music native to Bosnia called Sevdah (very similar singing style due to oriental influences). Sevdah was traditionally sung and played in café's or similar establishments and in my opinion is either becoming too oriental/gypsy or too pop music like.

Flamenco really speaks to me and evokes emotions that other music forms cannot. I hope to meet you all in the future.

p.s This forum really is great, I have been reading many posts and haven't found any childish behaviour present in other forums, only enthusiasm, great hospitality and a prosperous online community dedicated to that which they love.

Hey people,
that looks really interesting, how accommodating is it for a beginner :D. I will probably be away in jan but will definitely look to come in the future. What happens at this "pod" meeting. Looks really inviting.

Its totally relaxed a few guitarists a few dancers a few people talking, sometimes it gets exciting sometimes with everyone doing a buleria, its a real mixed bag and not too serious. Louis and Graham come and last month Kevin came down from York. You should definitely come when you can.

Cheers

Simon
