Just a couple of ideas - and then you can look at the related videos...

Thanks, I saw these, but these are advertisements, people selling their gear. I wanted to hear any real experiences.

I found some opinions on the web, another popular mic is also the Beta 91, another boundary mic. I just wondered that since these are geared towards low frequency, if you lose anything from the snare. A cajon is not exactly like a bass drum.
The mics may be hard to find but I will see if we can rent some to try them out.

There will be cajon classes here at the next flamenco event, I will ask the teacher what he thinks.

In Cádiz, a cajón is amplified by placing a mic behind, just offset of the soundhole, just like a guitar. The sound is equalised on the mixing desk. Any mic would do, but something like a Shure 57 or better.

(a better alternative is to throw the cajón on a fire and learn to play palmas )
