Zambra: baile and cante accompaniment

Hey folks,

I always thought zambra was a guitar-only palo which was done libre. I recently found out about a dance workshop where the palo is going to be zambra. I couldn't imagine how dancers would work with something like that Arabian Dance stuff that Sabicas does in dropped D tuning. Then I found a video on YouTube where they are doing zambra for dancing and singing:

Can anyone give me some information about this palo regarding dance and singing accompaniment?

1- Typical keys
2- Compas
3- Typical structure
4- Any other information and tips...

1. Phrygian....depends on if there is singing or not, por medio or por arriba work. Viejin and Jesus de Rosario have modern ones in B phrygian with drop C tuning.
2.4/4 like tientos tangos.
3. Depends on dance or singing.
4. The term is used to describe or title a number of different un related flamenco songs such as Sabicas's droning arabic guitar solo, Caracol's free style "carcelero carcelero" dramatic thing with piano, the type of cancion you posted above, modern dance arrangements as per viejin etc caño Roto guys, and even just good ol tientos tangos. Similar problem with the term "Jaleos" which is used to describe or title a number of different things flamenco related.

Jesus de Rosario's Quisiera contario (tiento-zambra)

if the title of Jesuses didnt say zambra i too i would have just assumed it was a tientos
