make extra hard tension strings not ...

Hola Foro, yesterday i put some extra hard tension strings on my sanchis and i have to say: That is too much (even for my nails)
Tommorrow i have a gig and no time to buy other strings. So i think about tuning my guitar one half step down to get a lower tension (and then i'll play all my stuff with capo at least at the first fret.)
are there any problem about that way?
i'll playing alone.
thanks!

He used to loosen his strings WAY down and put a capo way up to a degree that his basses were slapping all over the place as though he were Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. So I would say it's OK meaning the guitar shouldn't get damaged. The audience's ears, I cannot take blame for though...

I hope that the audience don't notice my "faked" strings (it's a gig for school, so there won't be any musicians but i'm very nervous :D )
Thanks for your advice ramzi!

hey, don't be affraid to try different tunings! I often tune down all the strings even a whole note... it's also practical to do this towards the end of a string's life.
I think it's also good for the ears (in open position) not just always the same 440Hz
