Saverez Red Card Treble's feel

I like the matt feeling of the Red Card Saverez treble string's tactile touch.
it feels really matte and has a very feel on my left hand, kinda like, how after I wash my hands and it's completely dried (after about 10 mins), the fingers slide over the strings well, grips well and had no (in contrast) oily slippery feel to it, compared to other polished strings.
anyone knows of any other strings with such a feel on the left hand?

They feel like that because they're made of rectified nylon. Any rectified nylon trebles will feel the same.

Try La Bella Rectified Nylon trebles (that's actually what they are named). They sound great. Way better than the Savarez. Strings by Mail sells them.

Well, they may feel good in your hands, but recently I had to replace three Savarez red card trebles (2E & 1B) that broke while tuning, just below the first fret. This was within the space of one week! They were all new strings. Weird!!!

I always loved the special Savarez flamenco sound from many years ago, but today, I'm not sure the quality is the same. . . I seem to find the reliable D'Addario HT composites superior in sound, playability and reliabilty. But . . . . . I make no claims to being a string guru.

Maybe I just had a couple of bad sets. But I dont think I'll be buying any more. . .

hey.. not sure whether you got a bad set. I really like the tone of the savarez red card but I don't think I'll buy anymore in the future.. because it was good for a few days and it sounds like old strings now.. but it's only the bass.. the trebles sounds ok.. but I really like the feel of the trebles under my fingers..

i'll be giving the la bella a try..

The funny thing is how I have heard people talk about how the Savarez bases lose tone after only a few days, but for me they don't. I say this is funny because I have trouble at times with my hands sweating and killing strings with in a day or two. I had a set of red cards from some time back that I never had used, and I killed the bases on my D'Addario J46 composites, so I put on the bases from the Savarez set. I got a longer life out of them than I do the D'Addario 45's or 46's. Everyone I know gets a longer life out of D'Addario bases than me. Think I may start trying mixed sets from Strings By Mail, with the 45's or 46's on the treble and the Savarez HT for the base. Maybe I should go back and give their carbons a try again as well. Though the last time I went back and re-tried strings I found they were worse the 2nd time around. They were the Labella 2001's, and then the Labella 820's. My nails tare the 2001's up quickly, and the 820's just don't work out at all for me. Its strange, when I still played a lot of classical I liked the 2001's, they don't hold up for me though in flamenco. I never have tried the Labella rectified nylons, so can't speak on them. It seems that I can't get as bright of a sound out of rectified nylons, and I'm all about brightness, so that's why I never gave the Labella a try.

As I changed to 650 (from 660) they started to feel loose. Maybe I just should change to EJ 31...

I have found the La Bella Rectified Nylon trebles to be much better than the EJ30, in fact better than any rectified nylon trebles. They are made of a dense nylon composition, and they have a sweet brilliant sound, without any of the metallic sound you get in a lot of modern nylon formulations.

If you decide to try them, be aware that because of their density the low tension strings feel like medium/high, so use your judgment when picking a tension.
