In the por medio key you don't need really to do the Dm-C-Bb-A, it is often you just use the Bb the entire time. Important to note after you get the compas strumming down, falseta phrases often start as 2 beat pick ups on either 5 or 11....and also when playing for cante you can accent those beats with a rasgueado too, it sort of "answers" the phrase of the melody.
