Best Mic

Does anybody has to recommend me a good microphone for recording. Someone told me that an AKG is the best one. Please tell me your opinion.

Shure SM57. It costs only $100, but it duels with those in the range of $1000.

What is your price range? Some good ones I have used and would recommend:

Beyerdynamic MC930 - ~$350-400
Peluso CEMC6 - ~$300
AKG C414B ULS - ~$500
Mojave MA-200 - ~$750-800
