My new website

I've been selling classical and flamenco guitars for a long time, but only locally out of my studio, drawing business just from in and around New York. Recently I decided to go national, and I have a new website.

I specialize in factory guitars, including some makes that seem to be hard to find in the USA. I've always worked on a small margin to keep my prices low, and I am continuing to do that, and with a lowest price guarantee. I'm offering free shipping on all guitars.

I'm considering building a special section with free listings for luthiers, teachers, and performers to advertise their websites and/or services, with general and contact information, etc. Thoughts on this appreciated.

I invite members to take a look at my website. Constructive (no pun intended ) comments welcome. Thanks.

Ramon

RE: My new website (in reply to Ramon Amira

Had a quick look, and it looks fresh and need, but:

1. "So you will not see any prices on this website"
I am a lazy customer so I have to check on other website the prices?
Or I'll make a quick fakewebsite and post the same guitars at redicully low prices.

If you check every week all the website for prices, you might aswell mention them on your page.

2. "I take all orders by phone."
I live in Europe, so I will not call you...its to expensive

Nice painting by the way, where is it from?

Hi Kozz –

I only sell and ship within the USA. Otherwise I would have liked to speak on the phone.

Someone can call me first instead of last, but either way if someone wants to be sure that my price is the lowest, they will still have to check around anyway. So far things are going well this way.

The painting is by the famous American painter, John Singer Sargent. It is entitled "El Jaleo." It is hanging in the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum in Boston. I have seen this painting in person, and it is unbelievable. It takes up a whole wall, and is almost life size.

Thanks for your comments.

Ramon

ole!

i actually like, for the most part, the "So you will not see any prices on this website" idea and statement.
if i were to buy a guitar from you, i would feel really confident about getting the lowest price. however, i dont think actually placing some price on your website will hurt you.
because as kozz said, people ARE lazy.

and you should be open to doing business over email. because people ARE lazy and anti-social.

in the future, i think i will recommend your site to friends who are looking to buy a guitar.

i'm in boston. i think i'll go check out that painting.

nice pictures of the alhambra, btw.

Hi Ramon,
thanks for your reply.
Maybe do mention it on the page that you only do business in the USA. Does that also mean that the reference prices people use are only valid if the come from US webshops etc?
Can you imagine Amazon.com without prices but advertising they are absolutely the lowest.
To be thruthfull, I dont want an answer, but like you to think about it. You can have some legal issues.

I know from other posts that you are very helpfull, so I am not offending you in anyway, I hope you understand.

Thanks for the info on the painting, I'll browse for some more info.

I have to agree with Kozz. You should put your prices out there - at least a few of them for your best selling guitars so people can have some confidence in what you are saying.

You say you are the lowest in the USA but that begs a lot of questions. For example, does your price have some kind of guarantee it is the lowest, like if someone finds a price within 90 days that is lower will you honour it? As you have free shipping, how will you handle a guitar that is lower in price but does not include free shipping?

Also, you imply that you stock all the guitars on your website except for Raimundo/Almansa brands. Somehow I do not believe that so you may want to modify some of your wording.

Humans need to see the price. A product only appears to be available for purchase when there is a price on it. I went to an art gallery and there was an old cardboard box on the wall for sale. $10,000. I have an old cardboard box, but the difference in mine and the one at the gallery is the price tag. The box is the same quality.

But did the cardboard box have soul? Not all boxes are the same in this regard. They could have been made by different hands. Could it be the hand that made it?

Absolutely!

So long as it is documented officially for resale purposes..

For example, I could buy some toilet rolls out of Asda for 60p each and have Damien Hiirst glue two tubes together and it would be worth maybe in excess of £500,000 in auction at Christies. Who knows?

Probably a good investment these days actually.

cheers,

Ron

My box oooozes soul Tom.......... "Momma's got a squeezebox, daddy never sleeps at night."

The one for sale with a price of 10 grand had no soul. It was unique in that manner. It was in this gallery we were performing at...... on the other side of pillar.

I remember that box as being particularly soulless, it was so soulless I bet it was even an atheist box.

I remember watching Marina stand there doing palmas while Fanny danced, I was saying to myself: "Marina don't bump your elbow in to that painting behind you."

Secretly I was hoping she would rip it or puncture it because it was such a hideous piece of crap, but I did not want to see her be liable for it. Although galleries do carry insurance for that kind of accidental damage. I don't think Marina knew the painting was priced at $20,000, I told her after the show she was bumping up against a $20,000 hunk of visual garbage.

Mind you I don't l say that lightly because I am an astute, well spoken well studied long time lover of modern abstract painting and conceptual sculpture. However that one picture was so horrible and insulting visually I would not have minded if it had been "altered by flamenco".

The Box was even less interesting, by God I've farted more interesting and soulful things than that box. That box was a soulless atheistic wart on the wide, sexy hot Duchampian ass of modern art.
