Kremona/KNA NG-2 blended with iSolo ...

I start with the punchy, strong KNA NG-2 on its own, then I go to the iSolo GT-10 condenser microphone mounted onto the soundhole, and finally I blend the two using EAE's StompMix 4. Such a versatile setup that requires zero permanent modification of the instrument (no drilling).

Thanks for the great review! I generally almost always avoid piezo pickups and inside the hole microphones as I like the old condenser looking the guitar from the outside setup for live performances, even if it gave me a hard time for many many years in noisy places.

But both the solutions you demonstrate in your video sound really nice. The piezo is actually punchy as you described and the microphone sounds more natural as expected, of course with some extra treble and string noise, as someone would expect, as it is very close to the strings being in the place it designed for.

The weird thing is that the mix of the two was not as I would expect. I really like each one on their own but not so much the mix of the two. For some reason it seems it brings some weird harmonics up front that before I could not actually hear. Maybe it has to do with equalisation? Or maybe some cancelling going on between the two? I am not experienced enough to understand exactly what was it, I just share the impression I had after listening to the video 3 or 4 times on my speakers and then on my earphones.

Anyway thanks for sharing both these great solutions!

Let me attach videos of each separately.

Here is only the mic:

Here is only the pickup:

It's possible that I messed up the mix a bit (weird EQ, weird compression, etc.) in the original video on this thread when I blended the two. There's no need to blend the two. Each can be used separately to good effect, honestly, but I like to mess around LOL

Thanks for sharing.
Are there any differcences between NG-2 and NG-1 except the volume control and how thick is the tail of the pick. My concern is that the bone of my guitar is too low and it might actually affect the angle on the bridge too much.

No, those are the only two differences between the two.

Yeah, it will affect the break angle a little bit, but I didn't find that to impact the sound.

Thank you for your reply, I'll ask Kremona for NG-1, furthermore I decided to switch my Kremona Rosa Morena for Fiesta F65S, so when I sell the Rosa Morena, I'll buy and the pickup with the next guitar.
