RE: Challenge, Beginners Thread (in reply to Florian

Florian:

Can you tell me if this is the same piece of music in this easy to download PDF file?

Of course, it's there for my own personal (fair)use (I actually own a copy of the book, which is too advanced for me, I think), but I can't figure out how to prevent public access. Is there anyone who could take a look and figure it out for me?

When I look at it, it seems like everything matches, does Florian's just have fewer pages because it's tab only?

I couldn't get to Flo's TABs so I can't say...

Oh! In that case, I could point out, that I have all of Flo's audio and tab files and the printed tab in PDF
that I can download in a single zip file
.

Again, it's for my own personal use, but I can't figure out how to secure it to prevent other people from downloading it. So I sure hope no one downloads them. Maybe someone could tell me how to prevent public download?

Perhaps if you tell us what other files you're trying to secure, we might be able to come up with some ideas

RE: Challenge, Beginners Thread (in reply to Florian

Alright, I was starting to wear myself out compiling the long list of excuses for why I don’t have the available time to join in on the challenge, but then I realized that it’s just easier to go ahead and throw my hat in the ring.

So, count me in.

I’ve actually been planning to upload a similar basic bulerias compas for a while now, but that plan keeps getting sidetracked by other stuff I have more pressing needs to work on. It’s really nice to see the enthusiasm all this “challenge” business has engendered here, so I wanna get in on the spirit. So, I’ll get something worked up soon, whether it’s an official entry or something similar, entered “out of competition”….

Thanks, Florian, for the facilitation, tabs, audios, breathless counting, etc.! What did you use for the slow version? It’s really clean sounding, with not much of that “extra” unwanted sound that you get from other slowdowners……

EDIT:: It didn't work... well it sort of did but now its ****ed...

only lets me upload .bmp and its impossible to get those dimensions and keep the file size under 30kb.. anyway.. ill find a way. sorry to talk about this on this thread..

What are you doing on this thread anyway? You're SURELY not entering the Beginners challenge. If so, I contest your entry here and now. Just stepping outside.

Congratulations at last. But haven't you got a better photo than that? You're very definitely arm candy material, but this pic doesn't do you justice

I'm definitely a beginner (ch2 on Graf's books), but I really want to give it a try.

It should be really fun!!!

RE: Challenge, Beginners Thread (in reply to cathulu

I need a little help.
(not sure if I'm asking the right question, but please correct me if necessary)

For the stronger beats, do I just play them harder (make them come out more), or do you play the strong beats where you build up pressure in the palm of your hand and the other ones without? (yup, totally newbie question.

For the picture, I found out that you need to have the exact pixel size. I tried smaller than the 145x145 and it wouldn't work, but once I set it exactly to that size, it worked great. (it was a jpg)

Thanks

As I said before, comparing the printed version to yours is really helpful as you've generally included more fingering notes and you've organised the measures differently (which helps to see the compas).

So your version doesn't become less useful in any way.

P.D.
I hope you didn't mean that responsibility for chattiness lays with me. I have to go back to work very soon. It will be a tough burden...

Hey Flo, this may be a dumb question but if I multi-track the compas/palmas with the solo guitar or counting version, which beat of the palmas should the guitar start on?
