OK, here are my suggestions First, I think we agree already at least for this challenge that advanced players sit out and run the thing. Next, we need I think at least three advanced players to volunteer be judges and run the show. I suggest Flo, Ricardo, ToddK, or others to step up. Ron can maybe help here? So we need to run a thread getting these advanced volunteers - perhaps Flo can do that? Then you three or more guys decide on challenge classes (I suggest beginner and intermediate). Next, you three guys determine if there are going to be any contestants, by I suggest putting up a beginner thread and an intermediate thread requesting contestants. (PS I will contest the intermediate challenge, but I reserve the right to downgrade to beginner if it is too tough - so you have one so far). If there is sufficient interest for a challenge, then use guys decide the piece and provide a separate video upload and tab for beginners and intermediates to study. I suggest two or three months to deadline the challenge uploads. PS if you three guys want to change the judging or anything, you decide... This has to be run like a dictatorship or it will fall apart. I nominate Flo, Ricardo and ToddK to run the dictatorship with Ron the headmaster.

Florian, I consider my self a beginner, and I only just got this sort of basic bulerias compas under my belt a month or two ago. This is all pretty much the same stuff/same tempo that I’ve been working on, but it sounds nothing like this when I play it! So, yeah, the specific swing/feel, and the timing of the rasgeos, that’s definitely the hard part. So, to answer your questions, too hard/too easy, I’d say that this is “easy” to play, but playing it well is another story. It’s a challenge for me, at least. And I’d be thrilled with a tab of this and a loop to work with. I’ve been just kinda plugging away at the same bulerias stuff for the past several weeks, so having something that’s very close to what I’ve been working on but is in a slightly different direction would be refreshing. Thanks, Adam

Yeah, that’s definitely what I’d call “blueprint” bulerias. Aside from getting the feel right, I’ve found that (for myself, at least) the real trick to bulerias is getting a solid feel for where you are in the compas at any given time; not just blindly following some tabs and hoping that you get from point A to Point B in the right place at the right time, but REALLY knowing where the 3, and the 6, and the 9, the 10, the 12, and everything in between is, and how it feels. This applies to all the other stuff, of course, but it seems to be absolutely essential for bulerias and a lot tougher as well (again, for me, at least). It’s only as this sort of understanding has started falling into place that bulerias has started working out for me. Not quite there yet, but…. Anyway, I think that bulerias you uploaded is particularly useful in that it has a good amount of space in it. Not a relentlessly driving, “busy” bulerias, but something with a lotta swing, lotta space and something that makes for a good exercise in feeling your away around the compas…..

greate its good to see that u guys are ok with the challenge so far....the quicker we can get this logistics out of the way the faster we can move on to the fun parts.. I am sorry if i seem a litlle pushy lol I hope I dont seem too dismisive of others ideas. without atleast fair explonation...its from good intentions...u guys know what happens everytime we discuss this things too much lol..we kill the momentum the most important thing is that we do it...if anyone has any suggestions thats cool but make sure its worded out exactly and clear to understand, detailed, doable and simple....if someone has a greate idea, brilliant i am more then happy to follow it but please be specific and think detail..... i was reminded today that the workshop with the woman from spain is starting next week, so myself have to stay on guajira and cantinas ( was starting to get bored of guajiras lol) but i am more then happy to help get organised, provide whatever u need and vote if you want it.. Deniz your idea is good but personally i dont think participants should judge atleast not in the same class they compete in..its a conflict of interest...its not that i dont trust your fairness is just not really done...it could become about oh....he was kind to me so il be generous with him..or the oposite etc.. or imagine this theres only 7 point difference between you winning and Joe wining...everyone has cast theyr votes...and u are leading by 7 points..the only vote left to be casted is yours....will you not be tempted to give Joe a 6 ? lol ...I am human i might i just dont wanna put you guys in that situation...plus we should keep it as simple as possible.. we either make it everyone who dosent compete votes or about 8, 10, 15 whatever amount of judges you guys wish to nominate.. its just too complicated other ways isnt it ? and someone suggested a great way to vote..I was thinking about it and it makes sence..to me.if you wanna vote the guy u are voting on deserves to atleast see you do it to his face..just to avoid any **** or anyone using this as an excuse to bash someone... however keep in mind that judges will be judges, they will not be doing anyone any favours this time, they will vote according to them....its important that each person that judges is as honest as posible to theyr opinion instead of anonymus...each person voting will mark from 1 to 10 with 10 beeing the highest for 3 or 4 criterias we agree on..example. Deniz technique 10 compas 9 aire 10 total 29 there is a possibility there might be 2 winners ...nothing wrong with that..or we can think of making the criteria more detiled to reduce the chances of a draw...eg. mark techniques individualy rasqueado 7 arpegio 9 picado 10 rithm 10 timing 10 aire 10 total 56 its harder to get identical overall scores so what do you think ? Can we start voting on the judging ? either nominate as many members as you like to vote ( and use names)...or we all agree that everyone that dosent participate can vote...its up to those of you who are taking part in the challenge.. depending who wants to take part in the challenge or voting I nominate people like Ron, Todkk, Grisha, Ricardo, JasonM, Sean, Pimientito, Norman K, John O, Doit, Kate, Anders etc......i cant take it cause I have to practice diferent things so id like to vote if you will have me..whomever wants to vote or take the challenge should speak up..u cant do both...so Todkk, you might have to just pick one...but whomever wants to take the challenge by all means take it...dont setlle for judging...i am defenetly in the next one... whomever votes you want a broad selection that covers many different opinions and tastes, i nominated judges who see it from different angles too...wich will make it interesting and wide open..
