A comment on HemeolaMan's post--no one can strangle and kill flamenco. No one can strangle and kill Mozart; no one can strangle and kill Led Zeppelin, or the Blues. One can analyze them 'til the cows come home, and many people enjoy that, but the music is still there, just the same. BUT--the question is, what music (good, bad, or indifferent; whether you like it or I like it, or hate it) should we accurately call--Flamenco? Now that's an interesting question, and ought to be addressed. Is Mozart the Blues? Is it Baroque? Is it Flamenco? Let's think about it, analyze it, intellectualize it--or not, as we each choose. But if we don't think about it, then maybe everything is flamenco if somebody says it is. runner
