New website
Hi all,
Thought you might be interested to see our new website, done by my husband Dave. Designing websites is a sort of hobby - he revamped Anda La Musica for Kate and Harold, and did Emilio's new Escuela one. Apparently he enjoys spending hours in front of a computer typing in code
The site just for information to help people find out what's going on in this area - not to make money in any way. But we are going to try and keep it as up to date as possible. Where other sites already have good information, we have just put a link to them - no point in duplicating.
Please take a look. As it's brand new I'd welcome feedback - of the constructive sort, obviously!!
I've just read this whilst in Spain and it was a really good. I'd recommend this to folk with an interest in Spain/Civil war/Andalucia (no flamenco in it unfortunately)
Very nicely done and easy to navigate. Dave has a very good design eye. Please can we have links to andalamusica and to Emilio's website. Also thought you could put up pics from the concert and classes you organised as well if you have any. And with an eye on the future you should offer to help people get their flamenco holidays and classes arranged :)

Ah yes one of my favourites as well. I remember reading Cider With Rosie at school. I had a great version with the whole set in but it seems to have gone from my shelves ( I really should not lend favourite books) and dont think its in print any more. 1] Laurie Lee's autobiographical trilogy - Book 1:"Cider with Rosie" (1959); Book 2:"As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning" (1969); and Book 3: "A Moment of War" (1991).
I wonder how much flamenco was going on in the Civil War. one of my favourite films set in this era is Ay Carmela about a troupe of performers who cross through the war zones.

Hey Kate, when I bought his 'mid summer' book a couple of weeks ago, I saw all 3 of those books available in one book in the Borders on Oxford street! I guess its not the same as the 3 book set you were referring to but they are definately in print.

Sadly Tring is in the wrong direction for you I think - it's near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. I've been doing some dancing there on their flamenco night on Mondays. Beautiful place and nice tapas.
