this might be a stupid question, but I'd like to know how a lay person like myself can distinguish between laminated and massive woods. I know you can take a look at the border of the soundhole to see if the grain of the wood goes through the whole top, but are there any other ways to distinguish this? I mean, if this is the only way, how can you tell if the back of the guitar is also massive or not?
