Thank you all - your hard work, patience and democratic ethos is appreciated more than you probably know.
Thanks for taking our site back and getting it up and running again - for flamenco enthusiasts (young, old, modern AND trad) this place is truly invaluable.
Whether it's Franco or Bob - Isn't it funny how the flamenco spirit always flurishes under oppression?
@Admins, maybe you should also send an email to all registered members that foroflamenco.com is online again. Maybe some of them gave up already and are/will not be informed (through flamenco teacher, etc.) that the site is running again. In the other "foro" there is just the info that foroflamenco no longer exists!!
Quote from OldSchool:
Foro Flamenco no longer exists. Anyone trying to access Foro Flamenco is automatically redirected to this OldSchool Flamenco Foro. You are welcome to join and participate in the OldSchool Flamenco Foro if you are interested in traditional flamenco.
Foro Flamenco no longer exists because there are certain facts that a very large group of oldForo Flamenco members could not accept.
The old FF with its rowdy behavior and unseemly language could not continue with business as usual and be financially self-funding. No matter what they thought or felt, this fact had to be assimilated and they were unable to do that.
FF would still exist had they been willing to accept that fact and also been willing to accept other reasonable changes to make the Foro attractive to a broader scope of participants. If nothing else, life is change. To survive it is necessary to go with crucial and eminent changes. That seemed to be beyond the capacity of those members.
Instead of cooperating and contributing positively to the revived FF, they chose to whine, complain, and grouse about the 'tragic' fate of their 'beloved' Foro, demonstrating their frustrations with nasty behavior and negative attitudes. That destroyed FF. I have no plan or intention to restore it.
Inasmuch as the above is a concise and complete statement of all of the relevant facts and that the decision to close down the Foro Flamenco is final, there is no reason for, nor is there any point to having, the OldSchool Flamenco Foro be the host for any further questions, answers or comments about FF. Therefore, any questions or comments about, as well as any other references to, the defunct Foro Flamenco will be ignored and promptly deleted.
Hi Arash, Yeah...I see what you mean. So Bob is now posting inaccurate information. It's not that the "old" foroflamenco is back. It's just that the "fake" foroflamenco has gone.
A bit like "The Good Bill and Teds and the Evil Bill and Teds "
I don't think he offers Flamenco Master anymore. Maybe the "OldSchool" metronome would just be a pendulum?
btw......i have a good friend in Germany who is a well known domain-lawyer (both national and international), specialized in domain law, trademark law, naming rights, etc.
I dont know the details because i didnt follow up everything and dont know what happened behind the scene, but the whole development starting from foroflamenco.net, closing it, redirecting it to oldschoolflamenco and using "foroflamenco" (the name and its members) to increase traffic for oldschoolflamenco, etc.....is very questionable!!... considering the fact that foroflamenco.com is a well known place and name since many years.
When you type foroflamenco in google, then foroflamenco.net is on top of the google page now and as you know, it redirects to oldschool....
So, just in case, you should need any help in these issues, let me know and i will talk to him and describe the situation and see what he has to say about it.

yes it is all very questionable Arash, I agree, but Bobs oldschool site doesn't seem to be that busy/popular!!!
A toast to Simon, for pulling the foro out of some sort of black hole while I was away enjoying myself in France. The force is with him and with us all. Sastipan talí
