Thanks for the feedback.
I was suggesting £15, not 30 Euros, for a double DVD set. That's around 19 Euros at the current rate.
With my own manufacturing and direct distribution, I keep my costs down but I have take account of filming and editing, fuel, hardware, software, camera (DVX100A) , mics (Sennheiser), Anders' valuable time etc.

My thoughts... aligned with Anil's, too, I would surmise that this is as it is titled, a "documentary", and a delightful looking one at that!! But it is not an instructional on making the guitar, right? How could it be in less than 2 hours? LOL So that is why it should not be too high, but I will pay the 19 euros very happily!!

No, its not an instructional video. I´m not saying: you have to do this or that in order to get this or that. Its not my style. Its a DVD set about me making a flamencoguitar. Its VERY personal. Simon gets really close. I would call it an inspirational DVD where you can learn a lot about guitarmaking or at least you can learn about how I toss around in my workshop.
15 pounds is around 22,- Euros?????? If someone is not interested in paying that, well, their problem, and they can of course feel free to to go out and use their 20 or 22 euros on something else. I hope they will find something more valuable than Simons DVD.

@Doitsujin, i am not sensitive at all but i totally disagree with you because of following reasons:
1) We are talking about a product from friends from this foro and not someone we dont know from Encuentro production
2) We all benefit from the FREE foro (Simon) and the informations which a professional guitar builder (like Anders) offer us since years.
3) The profit will be used for maintenance of the foro and not to make Simon or Anders rich (BTW......i think a Software developer for Microsoft and a guitar builder dont really need your or my 5 Euros! )
4) 19 Euros for a double DVD set is not expensive at all
5) I dont think that there is any ALDI in Andalucia
---
BTW.....I feel the same here like i was feeling as Ricardo released his CD. For me this is something completely different than buying something from somewhere else! And i am not a rich person!
So.... just send me the DVD and charge me whatever you want is my feeling!

Oh, and another reason:
Encuentro or other "professionals", sell many thousands of copies of their products all over the world, so they can cover the expenses of the production through the number of the CDs/DVDs they sell.
Here we are talking about a niched product for a special target group who are interested in flamenco guitar building!

I think the trailer looks very promising and the price is very fair to me. You can count me in Simon. I'll order one copy when you tell me how. And Anders, hope you get a lot of orders to compensate for your time. I admire your capability to work and talk simultanously! Great jobfrom both of you!
RE: MY FIRST DOCUMENTARY - making a ... (in reply to Escribano)
I thought this here is a discussion forum? I just told my opinion about the price and also wrote that Im maybe wrong and are waiting for other opinions to maybe change mine. Well after reading severl other posts, I also think 19Euros is a good price. At least, thats the usual way of dealing about prices. I think Escribando wanted to know what we are thinking about the price. If just some rich people would accept 100$ some people couldnt buy it, no? So I just try to compare the price with some experiences, not more.
Well, some members wrote an answere which are worth to think about and which I appreciate. But what trys this person to tell? Sean must be a genius, becaus his post has a multiple meaning. He should write poems or something.

Well, thanks for the translation Alisa, but I can understand spanish by myself. But what is the message? Maybe he doesnt agree with my opinion about the price of the DVD?
Does he write in spanish that it doesnt sound so harsh? Im wondering why this post isnt deleted by the Admins. [EDIT: just encoding with stars? come on..] In general I would think such attacks have the target to provoke somebody or get an reaction.. But isnt it stupid to do this in a different lenguage? I would attack in english, because everybody would understand me in an english forum.. Well, Im not abused about that, because I have a heart for kids.

Yeah, you're right. I have edited the offending word. I was suggesting a price, but your analysis of the costs of a full-length documentary based on the cost of blank DVDs and a burner is naive.
RE: MY FIRST DOCUMENTARY - making a ... (in reply to Escribano)
this place is like cheers (minus the rugged good looks of ted danson) or the pub, where i can sit down and have a chat with the lads and ladies about flamenco. simons price is pretty fair, this place has given us alot of help and im willing to support it by buying the dvd.
