1960 Conde for sale

I have a 1960 Conde (Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso)that I am thinking about putting on Ebay. Will I get the most value for it if I post it there?

Perhaps the lack of response to your question is due to the fact that this is not straightforward. Many guitars go unsold on ebay – usually because the reserve or opening bid is set too high.
From the pictures, the guitar looks genuine. It is not the top model Conde from this period – this would have had the ‘media luna’ head design. However it is not the very lowest model which would have had a 3 piece back and a simpler rosette design. Some of the mid range guitars were very good but the quality was variable.
Anyone buying a guitar of this age without seeing or playing it would be taking a risk. They would be more confident if there was some independent verification that the guitar was playable (neck not twisted, soundboard not excessively distorted, scope for getting good action without major restoration etc).
I don’t know if you play flamenco guitar – if not, I think it be worth getting an opinion from someone who can and lives locally to you.

A set of new strings could also help to make it look better

Rob,
Thanks for the great response. I think another reason that not many people are responding to the post is because I also left my email address on the post. (getting allot of emails)
This guitar is almost 50yrs old, it is not without flaws. The photo's that I have posted are not very clear. It had a full set of strings on it but they were not in good shape and I wanted a clear shot at the label on the inside so I removed the nylon strings.
At the advise of many people including yourself I am taking it to a guitar shop to have them inspect, restring, photograph, and possibly present some kind of demonstration.

Possible but I doubt it. I took a beating on my Pimental and Diaz flamencos I sold on ebay. Consider the dealers that will sell this for you on commission. There are a couple of them on the forum that have been fair with me and they could advise you better.

Even though it is not "media luna", it is signed and what i consider an "A model" as we think of today. You can see vids on youtube of PDL and Morao sr. playing instruments like this. Probably no more than 5K, but there is one on Guitarsalon for 7,500, and Kabong keeps trying to to get over 10K for his 72 sobrinos(another I would say should be 5-7k range). But you should not let it go less than 4K IMO...it is vintage after all. (I assume no refinish). I wish i could try it myself, it looks like good shape for its age, and these guitars usually sound really "flamenco".
