She's a beauty! The detail is fantastic, as is the contrast of the dark wood with white collar and cap of the peg. Not sure what to think about the shoe string tho.

Flo, its like i took this hot chick out on a date and youve come passed and wispered in my ear 'dude, i think she has herpes' nah i dont care , i will still be using the jim dunlops for gigs cause i wouldnt wanna lose this one anyway and for the reasons you metioned, this is bling for your guitar. Although i must say these are better than JDunlop style in the sense that when you tighten these up it goes down evenly and the guitar is still in tune whereas i find the dunlops you have to fine tune the guitar again after you put them on cause they have that sideways motion as you snap them on. Yeah a_arnold is a member here, he sells these for US$40 and that includes postage to anywhere. How sweet are they HemeolaMan, its the best 40 bucks i spent for a while...well around 46 australian

whyd you delete now my analogy wont be that funny anymore yeah i know that chord is a bit hard with the trad style capo, but i just use it for stuff that arent all bunched up around there like that.

It's OK Dom, we still get your joke.

And the cejilla is gorgeous - it is absolutely the dog's cojones.

Nice, very elegant looking. If you folks have problems with any chords because of the trad cejilla, like this chord:

E-0-
B-1-
G-1-
D-0-
A-1-
E-1-

You can try different fingerings. For this I use 2 as a bar across 5th and 6th strings, 0, 3,4,0. No sweat. Index finger just points out and clears the thing.

RE: i love my new capo! (freshly car... (in reply to Ricardo

Hi, guys. Thanks for all the comments. I'm guessing (reading between the deleted lines) that you might like an asymmetric design (with the peg off center over the bass E, and the rest of the capo low-profile so it's not in the way of Ricardo's chord). I've been thinking about a wave-like design, similarly carved, but with the wave breaking on the bass side, beach on the treble.

And Pimientito, I have done a few requests with inlaid garnets (not diamonds -- sorry) or with mother of pearl inlay with the owner's initials laser-engraved on the MOP. I have to charge extra for engraving, though, since I have to pay an engraving shop. The garnets are only $3 extra.

As for the "shoe string" -- it isn't. I don't like the cumbersome flap of protective leather that you have to put on when you use a nylon G-string as the cord. Nor do I like th sloppy look of a knotted nylon string. I started carving these to keep from going crazy when I was in the Navy, and used Navy shot line for the cord (if you were ever "in" you'll know what that is). When I ran out of that, I searched high and low before I found a similar braided cord soft and thick enough to protect the neck finish and yet thin enough to go through a reasonably-sized peg.

I'm surprised someone hasn't wondered how I attach cord to cejilla without a big ol' knot showing . . .

I've played puro for a long time and am just beginning to learn nuevo. Never owned a guitar that didn't have pegs, and never used any other kind of cejilla, but the low-profile treble makes sense. Sort of a nuevo cejilla . . . ?

i like the chord personally. i feel that it keeps the focus the wonderful carving!
it doest effect the finish at all either.

when i got my cejilla in the mail, it blew me ass over elbows, i was floored.

i'm going to buy another one, i was hoping i could send you a pic of my head stock and maybe you could try to copy it? its a killler headstock lol.

that would make my life!

p.s., how the hell do you attatch the chord? lol

Very carefully.

Anyway, Kevin. glad you like it.
Yeah, send me a pic of your headstock. I've done that for several people. That's arnold@gly.fsu.edu. If I can do it, I will. Some headstocks are amenable to copying. Some, (the ones with a high peak in the middle) can be more difficult. Conde is pretty easy, Ramirez I can do, but it's tricky. Look under the "carved cejillas" thread in the foro classifieds. There's a pic of a Ramirez capo in there.
