I've seen a lot of people on here who think they are pretty good. Let me ask you this: if you are so good, then list your attributes here. Why are you so good? What makes you so good. I would think a simple one two three format would be enough.
1. I am good beause I think so. 2. I am good because I won an award. 3. I am good becoause I have recorded a record.
Number 4, I think i am pretty good, but my humility precludes me from sayiing that I am a superstud guitar player.
Number 5, I am not good, and do no pretened to be. Therefore, I should resign from this forum
Number 6, And I am unhappy I ever subscribed to this forum.
Number 7, I suck, and have never pretended to play the guitar. Why am I here?

Na again Howard, The good players on this forum are good because other guitarists know whats involved and tell them they are good. Of course any guitarist worth his salt knows their strengths and weaknesses without anyone really having to tell them.

Of course I know this, I am just just ranting and raving about this forum. Let;s see who has the balls to come on here and say they're good. That's what i'm talking about. Maybe we can get your most favorite target, Jaun Martin (who I had never heard of 3 weeks ago) Who really cares about Juan Martin if you've never heard of him to begin with. This Florian guy needs on here to get over that, because look dude, I've never heard of the bastard, and I really don't care if he ever snuffed you in your performance, ignored you, blah blah blah whatever. I ask you, do you believe in your abilities? I am not ****ing around here. If this guy intimitated you, then get over it. Like you said, he was a dick. So what? I'm a dick. If we ever met, I'd probably tell you that you sucked because I wouldn't want to let on to the fact that your better than me. I would be that petty and useless, I'm shure. Jeez Howard. Just read your self into the forum before releasing all those farthy comments. The JM treads have an honourable history here. Be it to laugh or cry together. But you won't understand till you know your way around here.

Nice post! OK I will go first. I am good because of 1-3. Also I have experience strumming chords for dancers, and play gigs regular. The main reason for number 1 is because of my inflated ego, which I have had since I was about 15 I guess. OH, in addition to my guitar skills, I also think I know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING, which sort of goes along with the ego thing I guess. Oh, for the record, I respect other people's opinion that are different than mine even though they are wrong.
Well there ya go. Evidence! I am good becuase I'm better than you! I am not saying there's anything wrong with thinkng you're good. I am just bitching about the overall tone of this forum. You people need to ge a hold of yourselves and get a little humility. And as far as this Juan Martin **** and this Florian ****, I say bring 'em on. I'll blow both of 'em away! How's that for ego?
Good's a relative thing. Here in Mainz I'm the grandmaster because nobody else here really plays - means nothing if I take a trip to Spain, even to Berlin. Good for whom? Good enough for what? The question itself shows you have a lot to learn.
I'm never good enough for myself, which is why I practise like a maniac, maybe have a bit of a low self esteem, which is bad for performing, makes me want to fish for complements now and then, but keeps me constantly improving. That's all that matters to me.
This forum is what it is and the people and the fights will always be the same. If you don't like how the people are here, you're not gonna change Flo or anyone else with any enlightening debate. And what's more, even if you did, nobody would care. It's how people are.
Maybe use your time to practise instead of complaining. I'll tell you this, you definitely won't find a better forum out there...

Howard, I'm not entirely convinced that you are really interested in learning Flamenco guitar at all.
Your discussions are mainly personal/angry/philosophical and add nothing to the common good.
However, I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt, as a good few long-term members have made a stormy entrance.
Maybe try lurking for a while and read through some of the thousands of posts here on Flamenco, the Guitar and Technique. If you are truly serious, then these will help you much, much more than flying of the handle at others here and philosophising as what gives them the right to play so well.
Meanwhile your posts will be monitored by Admin.

I am good. Actually, I am VERY good. I can say this because no one here on the forum has actually heard me play. Until then, I will continue to say that I am good. Very good.
The one guy here who I have actually met and got together with, keep your mouth shut.
When do the people finally get it? Juan Martin isnt a flamenco guitarrist. Hes a buisnesman. However one would write that word... His playing is beginner level, but he comes up as a teacher.... I cant get it. (But also own a book of him )
We are here on this forum to enjoy the flamenco together, that's all that's required, no matter the skill or level of understanding. You don't have to be a virtuosso, or even mediochre, you know? And if you think about you're abilities, and obsess about it, you're missing out on point of the foro, and that is to share the experiance at what ever level of participation. That's what I get from this, and I don't care about rating the members or myself, I just want to be a part of this wonderful forum. If you are pointing the finger, point it at yourself, because it's not even fair to put these nice people on the spot what ever their level. So, I'm not going to answer, because I figure it's nobody's business anyway. That question defeats the whole purpose of the foro. We all can say that we have much to learn, so there are no standards, 'there is no reason to care. So get with it........maybe you should get to know these nice people a little better so you can understand what's goin' on. If you don't like it, don't log on anymore!

Let me tell you, Howard, I am good, I am so goood that I can barely make it through the day. I am so good that when I took a lark of a trip to Spain and ended up in Andalucia I was taken in by a gypsy family. Even though they were all Flamencos and totally steeped in the song [cante], dance [baile], and guitar - accompaniment & solo [toque], they did not try to teach me anything! Why, you ask? Because they wanted me to teach them! They insisted that I extend my visit way beyond my planned time table and I became as one of their own. We sang, we danced, and we played for our own enjoyment and we performed at local and regional juergas. And then ... and then ... my darned alarm went off and I had to get up and fix breakfast and get into the day.
But, each day after all of my chores and obligations are taken care of I get to spend a few hours playing the guitar and basking in the delightful sounds that come out of this magnificent instrument as I do my best to sound as Flamenco as I was in my dream.
Then I drift off to sleep hoping to once again spend some delightful time with my Gypsy family in Spain.
#8 I am sooo good, because no matter how big my ego is, or how mad i was I would never make a post like you just made.
What are you trying to accomplish? everyone here is just a regular guy ...or girl in the case of 4 members lol. some are pros some are just hobbyists. It's not like we're here for your amusement.
if you dont like what you read, go elsewhere. but dont walk in and start fights with reasonable, decent people who are here to share the fruits of their hard work with you for FREE.
