Either the £50,000 to £100,000 per week England is paying it's players isn't enough or maybe "Johnny Foreigner" doesn't play this sport just for the taking part in the event, but actually try to win. Which is rather vulgar of course...
cheers,
Ron

At least I won't have to listen to those ****s with the limited repetoire, on trumpet and drum.
Actually nobody in Scotland ever expects the national team to win ANYTHING. The fans really just use the event as an excuse for taking a couple of days off work, a bit of foreign travel and a pis*up afterwards. If they do qualify for something, then everybody secretly groans 'cos we know that it's going to set off the Tartan Army again and the newspapers into thinking we are a millimetre away from winning the World Cup and just prolong the bloody agony before the shame of inevitible defeat.
Defeat is our National comfort zone, success rocks the boat too much.
All the best Scottish tunes are laments....that's when we are at our happiest. (A bit like Flamenco really)
cheers,
Ron
