Well Patrick if I knew thats what turned you on........good thing I haven't started your new guitar yet, although it is coming up very soon.:)
Seriously that looks like a Goya to me. Probably mid 60's. Looks like it's seen better days, it seems that whoever removed the tap plates didn't realize that the top is not supposed to come with them.
Well, sorry to say... It doesnt turn me on In my eyes it looks like a 00 Martin turned into a flamenco guitar. Look at the bridge placement. The white line in the fingerboard is a bit funky though
THE SOUND! The warmth, depth and quality of it's tone is the result of the rare, magical convergence of the combination of Master Grade woods, superb, old world hand craftsmanship, and years and years of playing, experience, and human emotion being imparted into it.
That pretty much says it all!
A Goya! Aaron, Aaron, Aaron.... anyone with any knowledge would instantly recognize this as a rare 1963 Irving Swetzel!
And that tap plate thing just adds to the mystique.
I bet this baby will go in the range of $20,000 to $30,000 easy.
Seriously, you really do need to read all the text; it will make your day!
That little design down the center of the head stock is the rosette Pattern on Paco's famous Conde (before he changed it that is!).
I notice the exact same rosette on a late model Gerundino (Dan Zeff's site). I wonder if that design is copied, or if the generic design was used by Faustino years ago like it is today (meaning even he bought it from China or where ever they make those)?
Why would I need a new Green Brazilian negra, when I can have a rare Swetzel?
I think the guy got this piece of junk at a yard sale and just took a creative writing class. Take away a couple of zero's from the price and you may have a bargain, but than again
I've notified Friends of Animals, as they should NOT have killed a zebra to make the neck.....
Anyone see that "rare $100,000 Spanish guitar" on eBay, with "pictures coming soon" that got no offers, then got re-listed and went for like $280.00 USD? Never did see a pic....
I meant to save that and see what kind of 'feedback' was left. Anyone know or see who got that thing?????
