Anyone that does 3 finger rasqueado,...

Until now i have always done my rasqueado with 4 fingers starting from

eg : I X A M I I for Solea i used to fitt this in 3's
up down down down down up

but the guitarists from Madrid told me that everyone does it withg 3 fingers now, I can do it with 3 fingers but i just cant fitt it in and make it sound as good in solea compas, so how do you guys (with 3 fingers )do it so that it fitts nicely in solea ? how many sequences do you do for 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 101112 ?

And triplets how do you guys do your triplets ? i just wanna compare notes

Florian, they do it a m i i, that's down down down up. That's one beat. Triplets are p a m, marote, style. Not that it's set in stone.

One per beat i.e. a-down m-down i-down i-up - that's 4 strokes. 5 strokes start with x-down and add the rest; this is more difficult to do without sounding mushy. I don't start a rasgeo with i-up but the abinico triplet starts with p-up then m-down p-down, rotating at the wrist. I hear Moraito does it with a-down i-down i-up.

Thank you guys !

there are so many different ways of doing it , i was thinking mibe some users wouldnt mind just recording theyrs and than we can compare and i can tell exactly which sound i am after because i have the idea in my head but is hard to put on paper.

I have recorded the way i have been doing it , but i would like to see what everyonelse is doing.

I am not happy with the way my rasqueado sounds in solea from count 1 to 6

Hi Florian!

The newest ragueado you mean is : iai - i up a down i down

You must play it into a 4 finger ragueado,

ofcource it is a triplet ragueado, but the accent is different try to put the accent on the last down i stroke.

This rasgueado sounds more ritmically. You can hear it at the cd of Eric Vaarzon Morel, or Rompesteron from Moraito

Good luck! Peter

I know this may sound obvious but as the "strumming" hand is so important and the rasgeo fundamental, I practice it a lot more than I actually play the guitar. The tin my little cigars come in is perfect for tapping away at work and driving my colleagues nuts. Just a thought, but you don't need a guitar.

I allways use the side of my jeans, (where it is sawn together),

Between my leggs on a barstoel,

stearing wheel of my car,

So you are not the only nutcase, hahahahaha

Cheers! Peter.
