This is to let you know I have been "reading the mail" here the past several months and benefiting from useful information and opinions routinely shared. At 70 years of age there is no doubt that I am much older than most of you chronologically, if not in spirit. It also is clear from posted samples that many of you play considerably better than I do, but I am improving and with so many years still left before I will be ready for the grave maybe there is still hope.
Thanks to those who take time to share what you know and think about the many aspects of flamenco.
Well, I sometimes feel 35 until I look in the mirror and reality sets in
well its the most natural thing , we all travel the same road so even if we cant comprehend to a certain extent exactly what its like, we will
forghet reality only messes with our dreams, il leave in dream world anyday
I can just see myself when i am 80 still outside lining up for a night club while calling out insults to the Security staff but they cant understand me because i forghot my dentures home.
i plan to age as ungracefully as possible screw everyone else ... they have to put up with it, i did my time I will be terrible it will be great to see... il borrow money from grandkids, hang out in old homes trying to pick up widows, pretend i forghot where i am when people ask me to pay for stuff etc. it will be cool cant wait !
Il talk about the hardships of " My Days" il say, " You kids this days ! in my day we didnt have this new relseases movies instantly delivered to your house trough the phoneline, in my day if u wanted to see anything new release u had to get up , go to the car and drive to the dvd shop or have to wait 4 hours for it to download on the internet, you have it too eazy !!"
il borrow money from grandkids, hang out in old homes trying to pick up widows, ... it will be cool cant wait !
Some senior care centers are loaded with lonely, wealthy widows and senior care centers are nearly always looking for entertainers willing to put on a free show, so hang on to your guitar and you will have a great time.
I do that sometimes now cause my Parol officer says I have too
plus its good because i always act like Paco de Lucia when i am in the room ...infact i think i told a couple that i am Paco ..its a great feeling, i am signing autographs, and charging old folk 5 bucs to have they photo taken with me all day.
... ahem ...but i do it for them... it makes them happy knowing they spent the afternoon with someone famous...cause to me life is about giving, having nohing to give is just a poor excuse
