For Jason's stuff one needs the Quicktime player, which doesn't work on my computer. I don't know why. But I have the Merengue de Cordoba DVD where he explains cante accompainment.
Could you tell me an Alegria from a specific album which is easy to do? Or doesn't it really matter which one I choose?
try Sevillanas first - it's not pure flamenco, but a very good starting point. After half year of messing around trying to master tirititran part of Alegrias, I switched to Sevillanas, and this made sense immediately. You find yourself able to accompany others or yourself singing and/or dancing.
Hint: Don't understimate the 'simple' Sevillanas rasgeo pattern, practice with metronome and work on the sound.
