I'm playing at a benefit concert tonight. My first benefit show. I will be raising money for Aids and Ms. Thought I would share, I havn't done a show for a while so it will be fun to play for some people tonight. I hope I can sell lots of Cds and donate it all to charity.
Times like these it feels good to be a musician.

Thanks guys. I'm putting on my strings right now and trying to decide what to play. I'm playing for free so hope they have an open bar, those are my favorite, for after I play of course.

He that's great Gabriel, It's a good thing some people take the time to do stuff like that and it makes me realise I should do something as well but I know I dont. So I wish you good luck and you can have a beer on my account!
Well I raised 100 dollars so far and they invited me to come back tonight. I didn't realize how much this would affect me but I realize now that with music I can do what I love and help others. It's really made me think about my path in life and what I should be doing to help the less fortunate.
The show is great there are actors and musicians from all of the different broadway shows that Ron Jewitt has directed. He was the director for the Man of La Mancha show that I was in. He is riding his bike 600 miles for this charity. Anyway it's been really refreshing to see all these people come together for this charity event.
I'm out of cds so I got to make more today.
Hope all is well with all you wonderful fellows on the foro.
peace man.

heheh wow generous!! let me get this right, u play guitar, entertain, make your cds, sell em and give em your 100 bucs ? and he, rich guy, rides his bike ? nice
why dosent he just sell it and give the cash to charity i gues then u dont get the trendy benefit party where your other rich friends can sip on expensive champagne and pat eachother on the back for caring
better still, the cash used for catering, venue hire, sound etc probably costs more than the cash they raise, why not donate that ?
in his spirit i will let 30 women make love to me, for charity
sorry i am a litlle cynical tonight yours might acctualy be one of those partyes that is just truly interested in helping, either case have a great show.
HAHAHA Florian, you crack me up. Can I pick the women? You could end up giving more than you think! And I think your right about charitable gigs for the most part. Hose job 90% of the time.
the thing I'm wondering about is that you changed your strings the day of the gig? How did that work out?
I only change the bass strings, they where in tune in 1 hour. Florian it's nothing like that at all, I know all of these people from the theater. All of the sound and refreshments are donated for a great cause. All the money raised goes to aids patients and Ms kids all over the world.
It's not a snobby rich party it's a bunch of performers musical directors, dancers actors musicians all giving there time to help people in great need.
And the guy riding his bike just beat cancer, and it changed his life so he is giving back something to the world.
Well make sure you wear a condom or we might be raising money for you.

No need to be sorry, and Edgar I'm glad you had a good gig. I'm a bit cynical, but I have also done many charity gigs. Not any for a number of years. They usually made me feel good. But I do feel good today anyway-it's my birthday I'm 49.
