HAHA-you call playing the guitar a business? Seriously, I've been a member of a lot of bands and I've been a leader of a band, and I like being the leader more. I've been in flamenco companies where they want to rehearse endlessly until you hate the music, the dance, etc. Where they want you to show up 2 hours before the show. Or club gigs when you've never met the dancer or singer and don't know what they are going to do. Since there is only so much work in my area, you never get enough to get comfortable in this role. Who needs that kind of stress? And for little to no money. I've also booked gigs for cuardos and hired the other flamenco performers and decided I don't like doing it. Too much BS. I'd rather play jazz fusion, rock, rumba, whatever, and simply call up guys who know the music, need no rehearsal, and just show up and play. At home I play flamenco. So yeah, I've stopped playing flamenco with others. Maybe in the future.

I want to give the beleagured Rain some support, he's took the same panning as I (and others) did when I had the audacity to complain about some of the tripe that gets dumped on here. I don't suppose it will do my sexy -8 rating much good, but I don't give a toss. I tried to contribute sensibly here, but unsurprisingly the thread got driven down a juvenile dead end by the usual protagonists.

Rain & Crow, there are a few options open if you dont like a thread, you could read another thread.
Or you could post something in a civil manner, even if you might even violently disagree with whats going on, there is no reason to be down right offensive to a fellow member and go to personal attacks like that.
And instead of saying this has gone been driven down a juvenile dead end, you could just say what you didnt agree with or say what you feel. The thread doents stop until people stop posting on it.

I enjoyed the genuine discussion on the thread, it was the blahblah that did my head in. Sorry, next time I will hold my tongue and keep the clique happy. I support Rain in his general view, not in specific personal attack. This place exists for everyone, not just the volume-posting hardcore. Why turn it into a tabloid instead of a broadsheet? I love the music, enjoy the discussion, but if I want testosterone fuelled bs I go to the sports club locker room. Sorry, but that is my view.

But thats what i mean, no one should have to hold their tongue, they should just say whats on their minds instead.
And i agree that too many short silly posts about nothing can maybe become frustrating when you have to plow through many to get to the essential and we could all try to be more to the point, i try to.
And i think the testosterone part was just as much in the personal attack on flo as in the discussion we had.
And why apologize for your view, its a lot easier to get a forum everyone enjoys if everyone contributes with their views and experience.
We can all just be civil about it, and its Christmas !

No I didn't intend personal with the testosterone.......it was just intended as a representation of what I think it is like when a number of people start the blah... not personal at all.

but you're right in a way. By all means we should have fun, and I am just as guilty as anyone else about that. But I do realise that this humour and messing about gets on some people's nerves.

I can see what u guys r saying (rain,crows etc) to a certain point but if it looks like its going to annoy u dont read it. Or if its a certain person u find irritating just press block user button then u wont see any post by them. Keep in mind that what u may not like others may enjoy and vice versa. To try and muffle certain aspects of the forum is contradicting yourself and working against the principles of a forum. I dont think insulting Florian just because he one of the bigger personalities here achieves anything. Rain maybe your angry because you feel your not heard enough. All u have to do is speak up more often (i hope u do)and if your too shy to do that, just sit back and enjoy . Dont take your frustrations out on other members because u feel negleted. As with everything in life, u have to reach out a grab it, not expect eveything to be handed to u on silver platter. When reading Flo's humour, or anyones humour here it can be seen as childish. If u spent a bit of time with Florian u would realise that hes just a hell of a funny guy. How he is here on the forum is exactly how he is in real life, at least there no BS false pretences. You cant take life or yourself too seriously otherwise u would go crazy, laughter is necessary to keep sane IMO.

Hey Flo I'm glad it didn't last. Foro wouldn't be the same without your jokes.
I'm dead serious about flamenco, but no reason why we can't have fun too, no? Humour is therapeutic. You can learn with humour, heal rifts with humour. Sadly, can't quite bring about world peace, but imo humour is essential !
How about a poll on whether the foro should be completely serious?
And btw you just posted some excellent stuff in the thread on RHYTHM. Thanks!
