OOOPs that was a bad typo. It was los PICAROS.

Yeah you know the melody though Cartagenera. There are 2 kinds though, this one is in minor, the Cartagenera Classica. The singer is Camaron of course!

I lack in that department myself, thats why i started study it, i found 10 or so versions of it, with different singers, so im starting to pinpoint how to deal with it.

There was this site before that was real good, it had an extensive collection of letras, but it seems to have moved or something;

romerito, I didnt miss your joke, is just when it comes to flamenco i am never positive of an answer, just because there isnt just 1 book that everyone agrees on, every fact u find there something that contradicts it.

I have no idea what Muriciana is, i didnt wanna pressume u were joking incase it was just something i didnt know.

cause i started playing later i haveeeeeeeee SOOO much catching up to do playing that i hardly ever have time to read about the stuff i am not yet doing.

i mean i could have googled it or cheked the books but that would have defited the purpose of this quiz.

PS in that Alegrias question there are possible important sections that are often done you skipped. Such as various extended llamadas with footwork, bulerias build ups before silencio, solo de pies with palo seco letras and pellizcos, etc, etc. <OK NERD MODE OFF>

Colatilla of alegrias, yep.

Solo de pies I feel is something personal for the dancer, not necessarily "typical for the palo". Carmen Amaya used always do solo de pies in Alegrias. In my experience, if a dancer likes to do it, they will stick it into ANY solo, any palo.

This falseta (first 35 seconds) from Paco's solea is actually a suped up version of a falseta traditionally played for which dance? Hint-not solea. anyone other than Romerito???

Alo is right. And flo, you are right it has a lot of the same notes.

Rosas the song is like alegrias but has that part that goes to minor key. So silencio is usually done minor, I figured that was the connection. The word "Rosas" is in the lyrics of the letra so that is why it uses that name I guess, but I dont' really remember the letra.

Ok what is an other Alegria cante that goes to minor??

Romerito, you would not have said the same as Alo?
That falseta is used for the footwork in Caña. Typically, in the dance, the singer will sing a letra of caña AND a letra of Polo, usually one a little faster than the other, but it depends how the dancer wants it. Also there is a special bulerias at the end similar to the salida of Caña (where it goes to C major). There is another typical falseta that usually goes after this falseta we were discussing. It goes:
