Hola chaps, This weekend we enterained some flamenco chums at our house for the weekend, lots of dining and boozing and thrashing of guitars ensued. A friend of mine who is only an intermediate guitar player at best informed me at regular intervals that my bulerias compas was a bit off, later on, when he had drunk a lot more, my compas became ****!!!
Rather than kick him in the nuts a lot, I was wondering: Is there such a thing as a CD of bulerias percussion available to play along with? Any better ideas out there for improving my compas?
Hi el ted, yes there are many things out there for compas practice.
a cd series called " Solo COmpas" it covers every palo.
another cd series called " El Ritmo Flamenco"
and also :" Escuela de Flamenco"
there are software such as "Flamenco Master" its a flamenco metronome
and also the ceapest way and my fav, you can create compas loops yourself from the flamenco cds you probably have at your house right now.
Alot of the flamenco tracks start off with just compas, palmas, or scratching, asl long as you have a full 12 beat compas of it , you can cut it and loop it.
