Alliance savarez 543J also are nice with a gut string for the G...
"Gut string"? You mean a proper gut string? I didn't know these were still sold/used any more... are they? Where can you buy gut strings, and are they expensive?
Just to clarify the situation, "gut" strings are strings made from REAL animal gut... as far as I know they have not been used since the old days (for various reasons), which is why I was surprised that you found some. Although I think one of my luthiery teachers said he used some on a lute (or some other period instrument) he made. So I assume they are available somewhere, but if I remember correctly, he said they were very expensive.
I bet you don't have the GUTS to pay $40 for a set
Tom, not only do I not have the guts, but I don't have the money either! I payed £11 for a pack of Savarez Alliance strings yesterday, and personally I thought that was outrageous. Those strings are gonna stay on my guitar until they literally disintegrate!!!
