Gipsy Kings split up?

Hey, ya'll. I've been getting a lot of ads for various incarnations of the Gipsy Kings, most notably one featuring Tonino and one featuring Nicolas. My wife wants to see them and I was wondering if anyone has caught any of these shows? As a guitarist, obviously I'm more interested in Tonino, but I've seen him a few times before, and if I miss him, it won't be that big of a deal.

The management has acknowledged that the younger generation of kids in the family are viable artists and the audience does not know the difference, for about 10 years now. In order to keep a handle on it, they use Nicolas and Tonino as the basis of the band. If one of these two is not available or refuses to do a show, there is no “gipsy kings” happening. The rift began around 2010 when the other members wanted to take their kids out on the road and use the Gipsy king name for promotion, because they had bills to pay waiting for whenever Tonino or Nicolas felt like going out. Brothers against brothers. A few years ago, Andre has his own group with family and Mario Reyes on guitar. You can see videos on YouTube. Tonino has his group now, I think with an important singer, but I can’t remember who. And Nicolas has his son Jorge and other family. So there are three groups last I checked. Don’t rack your brain over who will be the best, they all do the same repertoire. Personally I like the compositions of Mario Reyes.

Ricardo,
cool, thanks for the low-down. I'll look for the Andre one, then. Actually, I saw them once when Mario Regis filled in for Tonino and he played better anyway. :)

Here is Nicolas band “the Gipsy Kings”:

Andres band “The Gipsy Kings”:

Tonino band, the “Gipsy Kings”

Also for fun, here is the old Documentary about Gipsy kings that features a flamenco dancer friend of mine at 1:24, and my wife seen in audience bottom right at 2:10, dancing at 26:39, then when the scene changes bottom left of screen, and at 52:10, top left.
