Jose Luis Romanillos RIP

I haven’t been able to find this in the news yet, so I hope I’m not starting a rumour and will remove this post if it turns out to be false. But I have heard from a credible source that he has just passed away.

A great loss. Romanillos contributed so much to the art of the guitar in all its aspects.

RIP.

A loss indeed, but the great influence of Jose Luis Romanillos' craftsmanship, writing and teaching lives on.

I had the good fortune to meet him and his wife when they used to come to Cádiz: they loved pescao frito, so we used to go to a bar for tapas. A very humble and agreeable man.

How old was he? He was in his 90’s from memory.

I’d like to get that/his Romanillos book one day.

He was 89 and died just four months shy of his 90th birthday this June.
