Hi guys. I was just wondering how people feel about other kinds of music and how much flamenco they listen to compared to other musical styles.

Romanza,
I think Delta Blues and early New Orleans Jazz, say.. compared to say, Modern Jazz certainly have a parallel to what we think of as Traditional and Modern Flamenco.
One is very earthy and soulfully based, the other excercising a more cerebral approach.
Both have their strengths, depending on your mood and what you want from the music.
Both have dignity when done well IMO.

cheers

Ron

I recently bought "my people"by Joe Zawinul. It brings tears in my eyes listening to it.
When I pick up my guitar afterwards I try to get that energy in my flamenco playing.
With some music of Frank Zappa I feel the same.

When I have listened to Nunez I all of a sudden want to practice scales and arpergio's

"freaky" is an apt word. I find their music quite strange, at least what I heard of it on "California". I was also told that they dress up in funny outfits on stage too....
