Guitar PRo 7.5 on sale for $55 today...

Do I need it - and are there any other deals in buying it ?

I actually downloaded Rio de La Miel from mySongbook - and after trying to play it as written on mySongbook, I realized there were some big mistakes and some wrong notes - so I don't think I'm going to trust if for flamenco transcriptions, though you can always get lucky I guess.

But for pop and rock music, I would imagine it's a bit better.

I have it and use it.
It is good if you are going to make tabs from listening to recordings or make corrections to existing tabs.
Most tabs you find are not accurate.
There is also MuseScore which is free and does the the same thing.

wow - didn't know about that - thanks for sharing, this may just do the trick for me - I will only be playing the files back.

after looking at both programs - I thought Guitar Pro was more user friendly and some of the key features were much easier to use (well, mainly selecting a portion to loop on).

No regrets - I should have been using this program long ago.. mainily when paired with mySongbook.
