My Alhambra 3F will not stay in tune. I suspect it may be the tuning keys. Please let me know if you have replaced tuning key sets, and if your have a preferred make/model other than the original. Thanks in advance!
Wooden friction pegs or mechanical tuning sets? Have you recently replaced the strings? If you did, as you were tightening your new strings, to be in tune, did you stretch them (physically by hand) out as you were tightening, then retune as needed? Doing this several times as needed. What strings are you using if new ? If you are using same old strings, did your F3 stay in tune before, this problem? If you are looking for a set of mechanical tuners, look on eBay, Da Jung from Taiwan, are excellent tuners for the money. Picture is a example

Gentlemen, Many thanks for your expert replies! I must admit, that I am new to Flamenco guitar and nylon strings and obviously jumped to a hasty conclusion. The strings are indeed new D'Addario Pro Arte, which I installed on my newly purchased (but used) 3F. This created the perfect storm for an inexperienced Flamenco guitarist as myself. Thanks again for your assistance and patience, and I look forward to progressing so that I can contribute in a more meaningful way in the future! Cheers
Are the tuner grips slipping? Or did the strings slip on the tuners roller part? I can understand that this could cause your problem. Sometimes the roller can spin if it is broken.
If the problem continues please ask for help here.

I suggest tying the string to the roller (after passing through the roller hole, tie the string to itself making a knot) this helps a little as stretching occurs at pitch. Second thing I recommend is to tune the guitar a half step sharp of A=440....and keep on checking the tuning over about an hour. Or leave the guitar alone for an hour, then retune it to A=440. Even after this for about a full week you need to keep on top of the tuning every day or it will gradually go flat.
As most pros know, as soon as the strings stop settling and going flat, it's probably time to change the set!
Thanks estebanana and Ricardo! I think the strings are finally settling to the point of staying tuned. This is a whole new experience for me, as my background (many years ago) as a rock guitarist dealt solely with steel strings and a flat pick. In additiona to the mechanics of a Flamenco guitar, I also have to start developing my right hand, which will prove to be the real challenge! Again, thanks to all who have responded to my beginner questions! Cheers
