I'd love to come to Washington and see all you gnarly playas and to see Vicente. Sometime it will happen, but this time I think I'm going to Boston to see Vicente. Long bus trip from Toronto, but I'm itching for flamenco. Paco Pena comes to Toronto next week, but please... that won't satiate me!
I've been reading this forum for several months, but this is my first post. I'm a flamenco newbie. I've played guitar since 2000, but flamenco only for the last year and a half. I'm so strung out on it, though, it's rediculous! I love it! I've been taking flamenco lessons with Paco de Malaga for about a year here in DC, where I'm working as a paralegal between college and law school.
Anywho ...I just wanted to tell ToddK, Ricardo, and whoever else is coming that I'll be at Vicente's show at the Lisner as well. My girlfriend and I will also be at the show on the 17th with Manolo Marin, Merche Esmerelda, Rafael Campallo, and Javier Baron. Should be a good time. I was at Sara Baras' show and Canizares' show with Jose Maria Gallardo del Rey last year. Incredible stuff.
This is a great forum with a lot of incredibly talented and dedicated people. You've got a really great thing going here, and I hope to start posting more often.
