Need someone to play castanets

Hello,

I'm a graduate student in a cognitive science research program in California looking at what happens in the brain during music listening, watching, and playing. I've received a grant that is allowing me to do this research during various pieces of instrumentals.

I am including castanet playing in this research, and can't seem to find anyone in my community who is experienced with this instrument. All that I need is someone who will play me a few very short rhythms (~10 of them) while recording the sound and the video of the hand that is playing. The total time spent on this should be very minimal, and I am willing to pay $40 or so out of the grant funding to anyone who can help me with this!

If you are able to give me any help with this project, please message me and I can provide you with more information about exactly what we're doing and what I need. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Chelsea

I don't want to volunteer anyone outright but I can point you in the right direction as I am a fan of science. Where in California are you? Your best bet is to look for local flamenco dance schools. Typically dancers play them, we're mostly guitarists here.
