What is the preferred type of lubrication to apply to the tuner screws, a lite oil, like sewing machine oil, or a type more like maybe Vaseline, or candle wax? Any thoughts would be appreciated
RE: General lube maintenance on tuners (in reply to pundi64)
I've never done anything other than a drop of 3-in-1 all purpose in the gears every year or so. Vaseline is sticky - it would attract dust and grime, and hold onto any metal bits and such. Not what you want to put on gears.

Thanks that was sort of my thoughts also about using a Vaseline type lube. I have a very lite type sewing machine oil, from Singer, just a drop or two might just be the ticket.

A drop of sewing machine oil does the trick just fine.
