as you probably all know, a heavy earthquake hit all the Himalayas regions, with quite likely heaviest damages in Nepal, mostly visible in Kathmandu, but quite likely also in many rural villages. It is also reported of losses of life and damages in Tibet and Sikkim, as well as in India.
As so often it is the poorest that are hit hardest. This charming nation of Nepal, that belongs to the poorest countries of the world, badly needs our help.
So maybe you have some resources you could use to that end. There are many channels through which Help can reach those really in need. Be inventive and look around: Maybe you know of somebody trustworthy with personal connections to Nepal? Maybe some monastery you like? The are well connected with the local people and often run free clinics, like http://karuna-shechen.org/news/help-earthquake-victims-in-nepal/ or http://lotusdirekthilfe.com/ or Tek Chok Ling Earthquake Relief Fund (http://www.ktgrinpoche.org/marpa-foundation) or many others I don't know personally. It could be Medcines Sans Frontieres ... The most important thing is to pierce the soap bubble of the exclusively personal involvements and to make e gesture of help. For Nepal the dimension of the catastrophe might be comparable in proportion to what would happen to the USA when the Yellowstone super-volcano and the San Andreas Fault would rumble at he same time, and still the USA would have much more resources to deal with such a disaster! Imagine having only one helicopter for the whole country...
I'll be happy if I could convince even one single fellow flamenco guitar player to do something about the situation!
Best Wishes Robert
