RIP. Apart from being one of the greats of the Folk revival, he was one of the very few to make sure his music was published in proper playable guitar versions, instead of of incompetent bodges transcribed by pianists.
Ohhh .. I never knew this .. I still have a Pentangle album somewhere . i remember transcribing one of the tunes a long long time ago .. I also used to have a Renbourne book that i learned a few pieces from when i was about 16... but my brother lost it .. although he says I lost it ...
Anyway , I digress, Although iI never seen him play , i liked a lot of his stuff when I was younger ... I suppose the older I get , the people i listened to as a youth will start disappearing ...

I saw Pentangle in 1982 ...a reunion tour first gig at Cambridge folk festival......they were minus their drummer as he hadn broken a leg in a car crash. Great concert. Huge talent.....has left us with some fantastic recordings thankfully. RIP John
