Just French Polishing

So, here I am mixing shellack, oil and alcohol and padding it on guitar #119.
And, of course, babbling along as usual.

Every time i see you in video I'm thinking always the same: What a beautiful, honest working! I have never seen your guitars live - how do you do the pore filling on the neck? I saw a guitar made by jesus bellido with almost no pores filled on the neck and for some reason i liked the 'woody' look a lot.

I fill the pores on the neck and elsewhere with pumice, which is the oldschool way. And the neck, afterwards, I finish with 0000 steelwool in order to give it a semi mate feel, which is very comfortable for the left hand.
Not filling the pores on the neck is a bit "cheap" (and a lot faster)

Loukat. A soft cloth should do the most. If it gets greasy, you can use white spirit. and you can polish with vinyl cleaner, silicone free car polish and some special violin products.

IMHO, the prettyest is to let the FP mature and then it gets this silky shine that looks classy compared to high gloss plastic lacquers.
