They don't come any better than Sabicas and Carmen Amaya. To this day Sabicas remains my favorite flamenco guitarist. And few dancers can match Carmen Amaya.
I have always found it interesting that neither came from the "flamenco triangle" of Andalucia, with Sabicas born in Pamplona and Carmen Amaya born in Barcelona.

Great stuff!! Although Carmen was born in Barcelona the family moved to Granada when she was very young. I dont know if the family originated from there but the surname Amaya and Maya (basically the same family) are still frequent in Granada.
