Digital practise aids - advice wanted

I am looking for a digital device that allows me to download/record and loop a backing track, altering tempo and pitch.

Something like this...

http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/commerce/catalog.php?action=details&pid=1761

Anyone got any other recommendations?

Go to Roniaudio.com. The Amazing Slow Downer. You download it and can use it in fifty seconds. Registration costs like $50. It has all the features above and as long as your computer has a CD player, you're good. I love that program.

Thanks, I will have a look but I was looking for standalone solution because I do not practise anywhere near my computer.

Oh ok , sorry thats a litlle out of my depth, however wouldnt it be easyer just using and way cheaper program like Transcribe , amazing slowdowner to slowdown whatever backing track you want , make it into a loop (backing track, on pc) than symply recorded it to a Cassete player , than u can just use the cassete player wherever u like to practice.

It is limitless what you can do with the pc , u can record waves, mp3s, or find a nice backing track you like on a comercial cd and just make a loop of it than record your track to a cassete player ( all you need is a AVI cable).
Most of my backing tracks , compass stuff are lifted from flamenco cds, theres always that quite period wherethe only thing you hear is the cajon, or palmas.

Anyway this is just another cheaper option for you

Thanks Florian, I realise the PC's capabilities as I spend all day in front one and I use Cubasis at home. It's a bit of a palaver compared to the Tascam I mentioned. Pop in the cd, find the right bit, mark the start and end, adjust tempo and pitch, click on the footswitch and away we go. It will also download from the PC so I can find a happy compromise, in theory.

I think I'll try it out anyway (I'll let you know) but thanks for the suggestions.
