Any idea what this tool is?
A buddy here at work found this on the side of the road last night - a quick google search suggests it might be something to do with brass/woodwind instrument repair. Any ideas on what this is?

Hey Jeff, it's my workplace - good eye, btw! We have a small CNC, lathe, milling machine etc for prototyping stuff. Home shop is similar, just more sawdust
I like the t-shirt quote - I already asked my wife about this tool, she didn't know either

The tool is a CED clamp--Compas Encouragement Device. If a guitarist screws up the singer or dancer would place the head of the guitarist in the device and start screwing. Needless to say a guitarist either gets it correct the next time or goes on to play some other type of music.
