Re: Bruce Lee: was it this:

"Before I learned the art, a punch was just a punch, and a kick, just a kick.
After I learned the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick, no longer a kick.
Now that I understand the art, a punch is just a punch and a kick is just a kick."
-- Bruce Lee

He taught in Oakland in the 1960's and 70's. Great martial artist, despite being a movie star.

I went to a lecture at Mills College given by a Chinese American visual artist who said he dated the same woman as Bruce Lee. He said that Bruce Lee was impotent, according to his paramour whom he dated concurrently as she dated Bruce.

Well that settles it then. But I never believed the man who starred in 'Enter the Dragon' could be impotent. And does this even matter?

It is complicated to mix martial arts and guitar fingerings. However the logic of what Lee said about kicks and punches applies to guitar playing. Oh yes it does.

If alive I would have said "tell that to Brandon" Also if it was a chinese girl, don't forget he preferred white chicks.

scroll down on the various pics on this site. Is that how we ought to shape our nails?
http://www.thisisclassicalguitar.com/fingernails-on-classical-guitar/

as I play more "straight on" to the strings, the ring finger nail I use has more material on the LEFT side than the right (exact opposite of the pictured ramp). My middle finger is more straight across and the index indeed as the one pictured. So they ramp i m a like this / / / and I ramp like this /- \. Because of the wrist and angle of attack I imagine. I don't know how you play so all I can say is experiment.

I discovered this trick 3 days ago, took me a couple of minutes of thinking and 30 seconds of filing. After 3 decades of guitar playing I finally have balanced sound in arpeggios.
