Fiestas de Otoño

Well tonight's show was certainly an education!
I gather that the performers were non-professionals although, again I recognise some faces from Jerez peñas.
All this talk I hear on the Net about the decline of Flamenco puro seems certainly wrong.
In Jerez, the art form is truly indefatigible.
The Joaquin Cortes's etc etc will come and go, and good luck to them too.
"Nuevo Flamenco" is nothing to be feared as a force that will eventually undermine the basis of true and raw Flamenco.
Not with that degree of popularity with a lot of the ordinary folk of Jerez who know a good tune when they hear one.
Tonight I heard some fantastic Flamenco and not a single South American chord or Paco de Lucia, Vincente Amigo or Manolo Sanlucar falseta!

Viva Jerez!

(Oh yes....and Viva the Autoescuela Arenal!.....LOL!)

Jim,
It's www.ondajerez.com and click on the "Emision On Line" box.
Last night was called "Fin de Fiesta" so I don't know if there is anything more since they haven't posted a schedule.
Time-wise the programmes have started at 7.30pm our time, but there's a lot of chit chat and clips at first and the music doesn't get going until about 8.30pm our time.
