thought id like to introduce myself here and ask as to whether there are any irish members on this board?
i took the guitar up a year ago and got hooked on flamenco immediately and have been practicing it exclusively since, my first teacher who studied for some years in jerez taught me alot of the basic technique such as picado, pulgar, and numerous rasqueados with such palos as farruca, solea, tangos and sevillanas whilst i was abroad in france for 8months.
now that ive returned to ireland, finding a person who plays flamenco in my home city of limerick is like looking for chickens teeth.
any help to find a person to jam with or learn from would be really appreciated. its either that or self study

But there are alot of experienced guys here who can help you if you have any questions what so ever about flamenco. This forum sure has helped me alot!

Henry, nice to see an Irishman on the forum. Always loved Irish music as well. Even bought a Lowden several years ago. Am planning to sell it now and get a good flamencoguitar.
