quote: I think you are mistaking negativity with total exasperation. Every time the subject of Reyes comes up Mr. Blackshear says the same thing, over and over and over. In fact he says the same thing over and over no matter what the subject is. And he never helps anyone else with any issues Anders, myself and others speak to Sounds negative to me Stephen but Hey! Let's be cool and have a good time. Life is too short to worry about who is getting the most press time here. I think it is you guys who are letting your presence be known here, most of the time, and it doesn't bother me a bit, as this forum is for all persons who care to give their knowledge and expertise about what they know instead of using this forum to insult other builders. And I've said it before, even on my website for years now, that if my fine tuning turns out to be something new, then it would be just another way to tune guitars. I taught Francisco Navarro some fine tuning technique and he went with it to become an excellent builder of the Reyes style, which Vicente Amigo took note of and has agreed to record with them in Spain. The particular plan that you diss is the best selling plan of all of GAL's plans that they have sold to date. This means that many guitar builders have had the opportunity to learn things that improve their craft. I think its time to get friendly... Here we go again. This has been written hundreds of times by the same person. ITS SPAM. And it has been written in all kinds of discussions over the past 5 years. Not only when it comes to the Reyes plan, but when it comes to whatever other soundboard issue. This guy is totally killing everything here with his selfobsessive (spell) attitude. He never says anything else. And this for 5 years. And its so sleazy when this person at the same time writes as if he is the only nice guy in the show, Sorry, but I cant be friendly with this anymore. Its impossible. I simply dont accept it.

ORIGINAL: Deniz Whenever i read a post by Blackshear, it doesnt make me wanna get a Reyes guitar. It makes me wanna get a Reyes PLAN. Seriously. And i dont even have any interest in guitar building, i wouldnt know what to do with that plan. He is SOO GOOOD in advertising his own stuff, and i mean that 100% honestly. The way he connects Vicente Amigo to his work although there is not much connection. Thats talent. Yeah it kinda sucks he has to repeat himself that often, but this is how advertising works. Deniz, The idea was to make a plan with fine tuning added to it to help other guitar makers gain some insight how Spanish masters work with their art. This was not easy but the feed back I've had for doing this is all positive from those who e-mailed to thank me for donating it. I have made no money on the plan as it was donated to the GAL to distribute to those builders who wanted to try it out. It is their best seller, the last I heard, and the Spanish factory that builds some very high end guitars for Spanish guitar companies says it is the best flamenco pattern they've worked with, so far. And the accusation that I did this to be linked with Reyes for my own building practice, might fly, if I built more than a guitar or two per year. As it is, we all have to make guitars to earn a living, and I hate to insult anyone for having a passion for their craft or anything guitar related on this forum. But I will answer those who claim that I have nothing to say, even if I have to repeat myself due to their insults. Whatever happened to free speech, as it seems certain members of this list want to lock things down whenever they disagree with their peers. And to me, this is unacceptable for any chat list that desires to encourage new membership. And Deniz, I once talked with Willie Nelson on the phone years ago and in our conversation I mentioned to him that we have to keep our name before the public, otherwise they will have a tendency to forget about us, and he said, "Boy! isn't that the truth."

At school, there was a little boy from a poor, sink estate (like projects, in the US) and what any other kid had, he had one too. Whatever they brought to school, he would say "I have one of those". Eventually, kids would bring all kinds of crap, just to laugh at the boy who had everything, but who actually had very little. He just wanted to fit in. He was tormented and bullied so much, that he didn't want to go to school, he stopped doing well in exams or indeed anything that might draw attention to himself. I know, because I was that little boy and to this day, it hurts. On that thought, this thread is locked (along with the many others) and I ask the main players to have a good think about "rising to the bait" in future.
