On 18th January Vicente Amigo will be appearing at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in a flamenco/celtic production Tierra in collaboration with folk artists, John M'c Clusker and Michael M'c Goldrick, along with other noted instrumentalists. Sharing the bill is upcoming Portuguese Fado singer Carmhino.
I went to see Vicente. I've been a big fan for years but unfortunately, the Celtic fusion stuff was overpowering with too many pieces performed in jig time. The master playing was superb with a neat spark por buleria y cante towards the end but overall the show was a disappointment. Sorry!
RE: Vicente Amigo, Glasgow (in reply to Jim Opfer)
Thanks for the comments on the show, I did n't go myself. I thought I'd post it up because Felipe's dance workshop was cancelled as the Glasgow dancers were going. The fusion stuff is always a hit or a miss.
