Live Sound Setup, Help!!?!
First off, I don't know if I'm posting this in the right category, so, please forgive me if I have.
I have been playing flamenco for 13 years. I have a small PA system that i've been using for smaller gigs, but things are growing and I'm playing larger venues these days.
Still, some of these venues have no sound equipment and what I have right now, is just worn down from using it for the past 6 years, and it's small and was a package PA buy when I bought it.
This time around, I'd like to get 1 or 2 (you tell me) powered speakers, with a separate mixer (you tell me, please) and if I need a sub, and if I can connect a stage monitor to all this.....I use SM-57 mic for my guitar, and I have a cajon player and singer. So, in total, 3 microphones will be used at a minimum, unless when I have a dancer to perform with and I need to mic his/her stage.
I know music.....but I lack with very much knowledge on live sound setups. Also, I'm really trying to keep this on a low budget....like $500 or less if at all possible. I live in Houston, Tx currently but will be moving to Austin, Tx, in two weeks.
I have a gig next week at a pretty large venue and of course, they don't have any audio equipment.
Any help, suggestions, comments, instructions, anything!....will greatly be appreciated.
