I have been active on the foro for a while trying to sell my Reyes without properly introducing myself. My name is Thijmen Sprakel and I live near Rotterdam. I teach music in high school. Before my teaching career (four years ago) I earned a living as a guitarist. I am one of the few people who actually got an official degree in flamenco guitar. I studied flamenco guitar at the Rotterdam conservatory under the leading tutelage of Paco Pena. I was lucky enough to be in personal masterclasses by Chicuelo, Canizares and Moarito. And workshops by Manolo Franco, Paco Serrano, Alfedo Lagos and Miguel Angel Cortes If you type 'masterclass Moraito' on youtube, you'll find me sweatting on stage in front of Moraito trying to keep up with the maestro. When my son was born I decided to give up night life and to get a day job. Flamenco stil plays a prominent role in my life. I try to play as much as possible. I am always on the look out for great guitars. Currently I play a very nice Devoe sp/in. Before that I played Reyes, Barba, Conde, Bellido, Pardo. It's difficult to stick with just one guitar. Each guitar has it's unique sound features. I really like this forum, so thanks to you all for making this forum to what it is today. Well, that's me in a nutshell.
I do know Eric and he probably knows me. He is one of those other few people with an official flamenco degree. His father used to be one of my teachers during my flamenco studies.
